Publius Licinius Crassus is the youngest son of Marcus Licinius Crassus and his wife Tertulla.

Appearance[]

Publius is a child, and has short dark hair. He has a small birthmark on the right side of his face.

Personality[]

Publius is a very innocent child who admires his father greatly, whom in turn loves him very much.

War of the Damned[]

Publius is first seen waking up to find his father's study. He questions his father on why he is leaving. Marcus tells his son that it is his job as a Roman to fight Spartacus. Publius asks his father to take him, expressing that he is a Roman as well and wants to fight. His father tells him he is too young and sends him back to bed.

Historical Context[]

Publius one of the two sons of Marcus Crassus and his wife Tertulla. As an adult, would have a distinguished military career, fighting under the command of Gaius Julius Caesar in Gaul. And later took part in the ill-fated Parthian Expedition of 53 BCE, under his father's command, which led to Publius' death after a cavalry charge against the Parthian Cataphracts.

  • Publius was born as early as the Roman year of 672 Ab Urbe Conditia (82 BCE), otherwise known as the year of the Consulship of Gaius Marius Minor and Gnaeus Papirius Carbo.
  • Filius is the Latin word for 'son'.
  • Frater and Germanus are both Latin words for 'brother' (his relationship with Tiberius Crassus).
