Marcus is a man of average height, with a muscular build to fit his quiet personality. He stands tall with bright blue eyes and short black hair, however he lacks any form of facial hair.
Not much is known about Marcus. He presumably spent much of his time training to become a gladiator, based his actions during the final test. Nervous about succeeding, Marcus' uneasiness led to his quick attack on Barca, which was proven to be sloppy and unworthy of a gladiator.
Blood and SandEdit
When Spartacus was purchased by Batiatus to become one of his Gladiators, he also bought 5 other men...of them he found Marcus, a quiet man with black hair. With him, he was joined by Varro, Kerza and two unnamed captives. They all stood on and experienced the opening training, as well as the lesson taught to Spartacus against his practice fight with Crixus. Marcus was standing next to the Unnamed Trainee that had his neck cut by a deflected thrown sword, thus narrowly missing death at this point.
Marcus can be seen at multiple occasions throughout the next day training with his fellow companions in hope of becoming a Gladiator, as well as in the cell speaking with Varro and Kerza, being called a "cockhole" by Kerza for expressing his fear in not wanting to fight Crixus as well as displaying his goal in freedom. He then asks Spartacus of their chances, since he fought the gladiators there, to which he responds that they all are going to die. Marcus joins the others in the nighttime training, carrying logs all night until he is finally allowed to eat during the morning.
He is seen during the Final Test that night. Varro successfully comes to a draw with Gnaeus and is welcomed into the brotherhood, with Marcus being next. Marcus sucks in his pride and sighs, approaching the platform where he will face Barca, the beast of Carthrage. Instead of attacking patiently in stance, Marcus rushes forward with a lunge and unfortunately, meets his end by a sword strike along the back of his neck that kills him instantly; his body falls off the platform to the ground.
